What if one moment your child seemed ‘normal’ and then suddenly as if 'out-of-the-blue' their behaviors changed radically? They wet the bed, pull their hair, have obsessive-compulsive or repetitive behaviors, motor, and verbal tics, maybe they even rage inexplicably. Ms. Maloney wants you and your doctor to consider whether an infection might be the cause before jumping to the conclusion that it’s psychiatric. The disorder is called PANDAS or PANS.

Ms. Maloney shares:
• What causes PANDAS and PANS?
• How are they diagnosed?
• What if my child’s doctor does not understand or does not want to consider PANDAS?
• What are the treatment options for children with PANDAS?
Plus so much more...

More about our Guest: Beth Alison Maloney is an attorney and leading national advocate for the recognition and treatment of PANDAS/PANS. She was thrust into the public role following the publication of her memoir 'Saving Sammy.' Her son, Sammy, suffered severe mental illness as a result of an undiagnosed strep infection. He fully recovered with appropriate treatment for the infection. His disorder was first propelled to recognition when she and Sammy appeared together on The Today Show. Seeking to further empower parents, she wrote 'Childhood Interrupted.' It is the one and only resource guide about the disorder. In 2015, she was named by the Wall Street Journal in “5 Things to Know About PANS.” She also championed the 2016 documentary My Kid Is Not Crazy.
