EPISODE 5:Aalia and Alex sit with one of Hollywood's leading independent producers, Julia Verdin, and founder of Artists for Change, whose mission it is to create media to raise awareness on key social issues and to help educate and encourage other filmmakers to think about the type of content they create, using media for good purposes.



They speak about sex trafficking, a problem society wants to overlook, but is happening in our backyards, the grooming process and the perceived “appearance” of a sex trafficker (Spoiler Alert: one was a Chinese grandmother), the reality of survivors coming back home, the phycological issues survivors have to live with, and what the public can do. They also talk about the precautions and the huge impact a simple “how are you?” can have on strangers and friends.

Julia has received industry attention as a director of "Lost Girls" currently on Amazon Prime. The film has won Best Social Impact film award and is broadcasted as part of educational programs on sex trafficking of minors.
