It didn't used to be that way. I loved the old "Runner" magazine years back. Then they merged with Runner's World.

Runner's World does not target the commited runner,they spend every issue trying to convince us how we can loose weight without trying,how to reduce our 10K times with the minimum of training,how to look great in our latest tech. gear. Basically they are appealing to a fickle ,fashion concious crowd.They do not relate to 'real' runners, they are just tring to sell stuff that they think we want to buy.
