Trump spoke directly to Democrat voters, especially black Americans, saying, here are the results of 3 years of ME in office. Polls show black support for this country at 30-40%.
Arizona Senator Kyrsten Sinema is the Democrats’ Maverick (like John McCain was for Republicans). Sinema stood and applauded the common sense things that Trump mentioned during the SOTU, regarless of the stink-eye she got from Pelosi. Sinema is a moderate Democrat who is shrewd enough to respect her constituency on issues that are important to them regardless of Party position. She wore purple rather than the prescribed white, possibly to show that she is willing to put policy over party.
Is it a concern that the President isn’t a fiscal conservative? Some of the policies he’s proposing are going to make the national debt worse (family leave, healthcare, etc.)
