Drawing from a unique and diverse personal history, Stacey MacNevin is an experimental artist and expressionist who refuses to be pigeon-holed into any category. As a visual artist, writer, expressionist and live painter, she works with whatever materials she can, in symbiosis with the time, place and people around. Her work is about distilling the complex and varied emotive responses we have to our environments, culture, nature and other people into colour and haptic experiences. For Stacey, the process of creating and living through that process is the practice of art itself.
Her pieces are vastly unique and original, and as moments in time, never to be replicated again. Her oeuvre is pointedly and anti-oeuvre, a direct challenge to the notion that art must fit into an abject and orchestrated model of fine art. Purveyors of her pieces seek a truly unique and continually giving piece that always provides new insights and clever questions.
Passionate and devoted to the process of creating and expressing, Stacey is always seeking new skills, new collaborations and new inroads to the artistic journey and enjoys greatly connecting directly with collectors and galleries alike. Her works can be found in private collections all around the world, including Canada, United States, Caribbean, Europe, Sweden, Africa and Australia.
Driven by a desire to elevate and connect, Stacey has founded Esperanto Gallery & Studios Inc. to generate a new language of art for both creators and collectors.
