On this weeks episode I will be featuring myself. Offering a little piece of my backstory and what has motivated me to create The Chelsea Keefer Podcast. I was born and raised in Huntsville, Utah one of the few kids who studied ballet in a small town and one of the few kids who was not raised Mormon. I talk about what brought me to ballet and how performing the tumbling Buffoon in Ballet West's The Nutcracker had me hooked ever since. How training at The Rock school for Dance Education was an eye-opening experience for a fourteen-year-old from a small town. How body-dysmorphia started to have an impact on my well-being. When and how I received my first contract with the Tulsa Ballet, saying no to a Director who wanted me to lose weight and how taking a break was a much needed step in re-evaluating my career in Ballet. Receiving a Bachelors of Science in Human Development and how it has shaped other hobbies within my life that I would like to continue to pursue. The impact of Rich Roll's podcast had on me of the Passion Paradox and how it has helped me find balance and to constantly be aware of whether I am still finding the joy within my career. Community and offering a safe space are a big part of my motivation for this podcast and I will continue to feature dancers, artists, and mentors who have helped me find the importance of being the best version of myself.
