On this episode of the Adventures of Pipeman, Pipeman is joined by Chad Moses from To Write Love On Her Arms, live from Blue Ridge Festival, live from Virginia International Raceway, Virginia.

To Write Love On Her Arms is a non-profit organization that has been around for 16 years. They exist to present hope and find help for anyone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, self-injury or suicide to name a few. They are there to help you through anything that feels too heavy to take on your own.

Chad talks about how the effects of Covid has given us more opportunities to feel isolated and depressed, but it has given them the silver lining that people will give an honest answer when they’re asked how they are feeling. You don’t get extra credit for pretending something really bad didn’t suck.

Chad himself talks about his struggles during lockdown and his sort of survivor’s guilt of continuing his work while there were so many millions of people not able to work on their passions. He began to question why he was so lucky when so many others lost their livelihoods.

Pipeman talks about how people sometimes look at his Facebook and say to him you’re living the dream. But sometimes he’s not. Sometimes he’s going through something you just can’t see on social media. Pipeman praises that there are organizations like Chad’s where you can go and get help in times like those. Chad shouts out Backline, who are a mental healthcare resource specifically for those in the music industry.

Chad talks about their current campaign for suicide prevention month where they’re trying to raise $250,000 to offset the cost of 3,600 group therapy sessions and individual counselling sessions, as there are a lot of people out there who simply can’t afford the help they need.

To find out more, you can check the resources out on the twloha.com, where you can click the big blue button in the right hand corner to get help, which are organized by topic and key identifiers. If you want to engage with them during suicide prevention month you can go to youarenotaburden.com
