On this episode of the Adventures of Pipeman, Pipeman speaks to American Maid Band, live from Rocklahoma.

Pipeman begins by asking about You Oughta Know, which they recorded with Chet Roberts after she cold emailed him and they had a chat and decided to do a cover to gain some exposure, and ended up doing Alanis Morissette’s You Oughta Know. They put the song and the video together from the live tracks, so it was recorded as live.

Kimberly talks about her previous band, the Kimberly White Project. She decided to shut it down because people were getting the name wrong regularly. With this new band she wanted to honour the veterans and the bikers of United States, but American Made Band was already taken. With that being said, they love their country but don’t love corporate America so working every day and paying your taxes is like you’re a maid to America.

The guys move on to talk about the Foo Fighters, particularly about the late Taylor Hawkins. Pipeman points out what an amazing drummer Taylor must have been to have kept Dave Grohl off the drums.

Kimberly talks about her new song Remember You, which has just come out, which tackle’s the issue of loss, and it can interoperate to fit any type of loss, rather than just death. She talks about how the song came together and the emotions she went through when writing it.
