There are two powerful and practical sections in the Text of ACIM that come to my mind. The Rules for Decision T-30.I, and Setting the Goal T-17.VI. They help you set your mind in the direction of the Spirit at the beginning of the day; help you to align with your purpose of forgiveness and turning to the Holy Spirit from the outset. And if the direction get's forgotten then they are a helpful 'reset' tool.
Sometimes quick action is called for, as you have described, and there doesn’t feel like there is time to physically stop and pray in the moment - but if your mind is aligned with your purpose of forgiveness and seeing the truth then you can continue to forgive and release your judgments as they arise throughout and after each encounter.
The ego will have you doubting no matter what you seem to do or not do, so this is a Call to go beyond ‘right and wrong’ thinking and behaviour, and into an ongoing awareness of your one true purpose (forgiveness).
