Singer-songwriter and educator, Jay Montae, is a Charleston, South Carolina native. Since moving to Nashville to chase her dreams in 2016, she has written songs and sang background vocals for several artists. Outside of being an artist, Jay Montae is also affectionately known in the music education world as The Passionate Black Educator. Under this brand, Jay works with music educators across the globe to ensure they are implementing anti-racists practices and creating an environment that promotes solidarity.
