I spoke to Nic Dumais, the bass player from French Canadian metal band, Nova Spei, and I have to admit I was in awe.

As you can imagine, being French Canadian and specifically from Quebec, the French language is what you speak and learning English, let alone speaking it with any level of confidence, is highly frowned upon. Nic overcame his fears and jumped right into our conversation and it lasted longer than the 15 minutes he was psychologically prepared for.

If anything, please honor Nic's commitment to this interview and go out and buy the new album, Sequentis, let alone the fact that it's a groovy, crushing, progressive metal masterpiece. Don't let the fact that you might not know the name of the band stop you, either. This happens all over the world, every day, with bands that you can't believe they don't know about. Don't get caught in the echo chamber of your musical culture. There are just too many great bands but I'm pretty sure it's your duty to support this great group of musicians. I do.
