Sometimes my conversations with Rob take an unexpected turn or two ... not unlike the experience of careening down the 10 with him during rush hour while I'm on my phone trying to find out where we were supposed to be twenty minutes before.

But that's another story for another day.

Today's conversation took an odd trip down memory lane. A journey neither of us expected, but were happy to take.

We shared our experiences growing up and being involved in organizations that, while they may be a bit politically incorrect today, were a big part of our lives and made us into the men we are today. Our experiences with our friends, fathers, and leaders in Scouting and Indian Guides were instrumental in shaping our personalities and sensibilities while we were in school.

And believe it or not, we get there by starting a conversation off by discussing (much to our mutual amusement), the dysfunctional father-son dynamic between Tyrion and Tywin Lannister (from GAME OF THRONES).

Never fear, however. There are plenty of liberties taken with the storyline as we bounce from life stage to life stage and eventually wind up talking about Disney and the influence Disney had on our culture and our lives. For those of us who grew up in the 60s and 70s, Disney's rise to preeminent power in the entertainment industry is nothing short of miraculous. After all, these were the people that brought us THAT DARN CAT.

More on that from Rob in the podcast.

I hope you enjoy listening as much as we enjoyed recording it today.

I invite you to listen in on my weekday conversations with my friend and business partner, Robert Meyer Burnett, as we talk about the things we love: great movies, inspiring television programming, nostalgic genre entertainment, and pop culture.
