OPERATING POWERFULLY IN A WORLD THAT HASN'T BEEN OPEN TO YOU BEFORE: Nona Brazier, a 63 year-old, African-American, female knows what it is like to operate in a world that has not fully accepted you yet. She grew up in the to "Jim Crow" era to become the first Black Woman to Chair The King County Republican Committee in Washington, pioneered curb-side recycling in Seattle, was on multiple White House Committees for Small Business, and even wrote the Federal Environmental Protection Laws for Nigeria. How do you blaze a trail where there hasn't been one before?

Notes I took when speaking with Nona Brazier on Living Powerfully in a world that hasn't been open to you before:
1. Don't age - maintain zestfullness, enthusiasm and vitality
2. Look to other vivacious mentors for guidance
3. Know you have something to offer.
4. If people don't accept what you have to offer because of arbitrary differences, it is their loss.
5. Realize you are a gift to the world
6. Go past feelings of rejection
a. Get in the presence of Love. Meditate on it daily. Love yourself
b. Detach from the need to control
7. Get used to be unusual
a. Know language. What people call you is not necessarily what you are
b. Love yourself, accept yourself
c. Open yourself up and you will see others like you
8. Do things so excellently that you are missed
9. Do what you know you are supposed to do, and that's all that you can do
10. Get up and do it again daily.. Daily encouragement.. Daily Meditation
