Moosaa Richardson introduces this new course and begins teaching Hadeeth #1 on the topic of: Six Basic Rights of Islamic Brotherhood. This is the first class of a new series in explanation of the last six chapters on manners from the classic book, Buloogh al-Maraam, by al-Haafith Ibn Hajar (may Allaah have Mercy on him). The explanation of Shaykh Saalih al-Fowzaan (may Allaah preserve him), Et-haaf al-Keraam, is read word-for-word, in Arabic, and translated into clear English.

Ustadh Moosaa responded on Twitter to my question below, he said: “Wa alayk as-Salaamu wa rahmatullaah wa barakaatuh. This hadeeth was rejected by some of the early imaams of Hadeeth as munkar (weak by chain & contradictory/problematic in meaning).” https://twitter.com/1mmeducation/status/1076763274904064000?s=21

As salamu alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa barakatuh, I saw a Hadith which said, The Prophet peace be upon him said, “Whoever begins speaking without first greeting with the salaam, then do not respond to him.” The reference is, Ibn as.Sunni, Refer to As-Saheehah of Shaykh Albani no.816. Does this mean if someone talks to us without giving us salam we shouldn’t respond to them and vice versa, (including if they don’t give the salam whilst knowing it’s Sunnah Muakkadah?)

Assalamu alaykum. Jazakumullahu khayran for this Beneficial lecture. I would like to ask regarding what was mentioned at the end of the lecture regarding not returning the salaam based on a shari'ee reason. If this means that there are instances where it is allowed and Islamically acceptable..? I just need further clarification about the matter. Jazakumullahu khayr!
