The Wake Up Call! Recently the Lord has been speaking to me quite a bit about fear and more specifically how fear needs to be eradicated, completely removed from our lives! A believer is not called to live in fear. And I'll be the first to admit that there have been areas of my life where fear had pushed its way in and I never dealt with it! And as I've heard many men and women of faith say, "Fear tolerated is faith contaminated!" Fear will contaminate your faith. Or sometimes like with the disciples in the midst of a raging storm, it stopped their faith completely! This is why God is saying to His people, it's time to get rid of fear! And like me, you might be thinking, how? I've tried and tried to stop being afraid but I don't know how! Well, that's what we are going to talk about today, and let me tell you I'm preaching to myself today too! We are going to dare to be fear-free people and the first step is knowing that God loves us! Some people may think that's cliche but it's not. David defeated Goliath because He knew He was loved. That's power. 1 John 4:18 tells us, "There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear." When you begin to actually believe that God loves you fear will flee! Now think about this: God loves you as much as He loves Jesus!
