Rather than reproving them, Jesus marvels at their faith. When He heals the man, the scribes sitting nearby are exasperated because He equates healing with forgiveness of sins. This is still controversial today, because we are taught by religious authority that God always forgives sin, but He doesn't always heal. If that is true then why does Jesus over and again equate healing and forgivenss of sin as the same thing?
