Great to have reserves back. Not sure how this will be staffed if dual reg and loans continue. I loved the old "Sallom Lager Alliance" with a League and Cup Comp. I think a cup comp to include the League 1 Clubs eg Coventry would be good. The worse case would to be to bring it back and clubs loaning players week by week to fill the reserves.

On the flip side to reserves and the 18s academy is the knock on effect to the community game. Ie basically more players taken in by a pro club = more players being released after 'not making it'., and then lost to the game as don't return to the amateur clubs. It's a fine balance

SL Meeting today. It was announced by Aaron Bower , Remaining fixtures = Magic + last 2 rounds. Other games will not be played.

Wane is going back to Wigan (upstairs/Director of Football) with Matty Peats as coach. I think kris radlinski will be next. I can't see room for two people upstairs .

Widnes shocking. Only fielded 16 players . Club have issued apology to fans ,promising better signings. for 2022. https://widnesvikings.co.uk/widnes-vikings-club-statement/ . Haven and Crusaders both going great guns in champ and L1 respectively.

Best performance by Saints for a long while. Really enjoyed it. Welsby/Dodd excellent. Raises and answers a few questions about how and why we have been clunky. Opens the door for more centre and second row play/involevment based on Welsby and Dodd taking on the line. Some good signs of this. Be interesting to see if they continue to go well ,if Lomax gets back in. He will but should he ? , Welsby looking a proper 6. Batchelor continues to impress , Mautaui went well, Bentley still has a big part to play in 2021 but needs to tone down rubbing heads , bend his back , and take some Welsby passes. Welcome back Paul Newlove.
