On this episode of the NTEB Sit Down, we are meeting with Leighton Flowers, named the Director of Evangelism and Apologetics for Texas Baptists in 2018, and regularly travels to area churches to conduct seminars on evangelism and apologetics. Flowers for many years was a 5-Point Calvinist until he came head to head with various Bible verses that deal with soteriology, which is the doctrine of biblical salvation. I became interested in speaking with him after watching a video where he systemically dismantled John MacArthur's false teachings on salvation, doing it in a plain, rational, biblical and non-emotional format which greatly appealed to me. Too many times Christians will get emotional and passionate about defending their heros, overriding biblical truth in the process. Join us today on this NTEB Sit Down as we meet with former 5-Point Calvinist Leighton Flowers to talk about what your King James Bible teaches about predestination, election and salvation in the Church Age. Leighton Flowers says that "It is very difficult to convince YOURSELF to leave a long held theological perspective and next to impossible to convince another.  For me it was a painstaking three year journey after I engaged in an in-depth study of the subject.  I had no desire to leave Calvinism and I fought tooth and nail to defend my beloved “Doctrines of Grace” against the truths my studies led me to see.  There was no single book, article, or discussion that led me to recant my adherence to the TULIP systematic."
