Imam Faheem Shuaibe has been the Resident Imam of Masjidul Waritheen in Oakland, California for 38 years. He has been married to Yolanda Mahasin Shuaibe for 48 years. They have 4 children and 8 grandchildren. Faheem is a lifelong student Of Imam W. Deen Mohammed (ra). He is the founder of M.A.R.I.A.M. (Muslim American Research Institute Advocating Marriage), A Clear Understanding Institute and The Sacred Life Project (A public language codification project focused on the language, logic and legacy of Imam Warith Deen Mohammed (ra)). Along with other African American scholars (e.g., Asa Hilliard, Iyanla Van Zant, Dr. Na'im Akbar, et. al.) Imam Faheem Shuaibe has been inducted into the African American Intellectual Royal Family by the Institute for the Advance Study of Black Family Life and Culture. Imam Shuaibe addresses diverse audiences across the country on a wide range of topics of religion, world politics, human relationships and societal evolution. Imam Shuaibe is a frequent lecturer at Cal Berkeley's "Holy Hill" for the Graduate Theological Union (GTU) which trains doctoral and post doctoral students of Philosophy, Theology and Interfaith and American Baptist Seminary of the West. His lectures are a rich source of inspiration and information to students and adults alike across the country. He has received honorary recognition through proclamations and the Key to the City in several municipalities across the country, as well as the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity’s Notable Citizen Award.
