Brenda Coles...
At the age of 13 years old, Brenda had her first summer job working with adults with disabilities. That is where her love for activism began. Brenda is a survivor of domestic violence and sexual assault and she believes that those violent traumas in her life made her an even stronger activist. Brenda attended Virginia Western Community College and majored in mental health and social work so that she could help other women, children, and men that suffered abuse. Brenda has been working in the field of social justice/civil rights for about 39 years as well as having worked on local, state, and national campaigns for about 30 of those years. Throughout her many years of advocacy, she is proud and honored to be serving her second term as the Richmond Virginia National Action Network Chapter President. Brenda welcomes all that want to join the Richmond Virginia Chapter National Action Network
