Godzilla: King of Monsters

If you liked the 2014 Godzilla movie, you will not like this movie.
But if you disliked Godzilla 2014 movie because there was not enough Godzilla, then you will probably like this Godzilla.

So I belong to the former. I liked the 2014 Godzilla movie because it was all about unraveling the mystery of Godzilla. Godzilla in that movie was scary, he was huge and he was threatening.

In Gozilla king of monsters, there’s no mystery. Godzilla is not as scary. And he is not as huge because there are other monsters bigger than him.

What I liked about the 2014 movie was that the human characters appeared vulnerable and really afraid of Godzilla.

In Godzilla king of monsters the humans are disposable and even if they are afraid of Godzilla, they get squished pretty quickly. Let us say, the body count in this Godzilla is higher but you really don’t care.

What I like about blockbuster films is when there’s a good story and plot with good acting. What I don’t like about blockbuster films is when the producers and filmmaker think about the dollar signs more than making a good story.

The actors here are okay. We see El from Stranger Things. The guy from Early Edition. And Vera Farmiga, who is in a lot of films.

I don’t know why people clapped at the end of the film. Sure, it was fun seeing monsters eat each other but I desire not just mindless action but an actual plot and good story telling. This movie was made as a result of a survey. Big monsters, check. Big monsters clobbering each other, check. Humans as collateral damage, check. Mindless action, check.

If you are confused whether to watch the film or not, just go back to my first question. Did you like the 2014 Godzilla? If so, don’t watch this film. If you hated the 2014 Godzilla movie and you are just looking for mindless action, then go see this film.

Thakns for watching. Write down comments below if you agree with me. Write down your comments if you liked the film and why.
