In this episode we shed light on pancreatic cancer - a devastating disease that has not seen improvement in patient outcomes for over 4 decades. We spoke with Dr. Anish Kirpalani who is the chair of Pancreatic Cancer Canada about their work in advocacy, research and patient support as well as what we need to know about pancreatic cancer, including signs, symptoms and treatments. We then chat with my mother, Sharon Wahl, who shares her experience living through pancreatic cancer with my father who passed from the disease. She also shares how that event spurred her to lead an awareness campaign called Purple Lights for John in Atlantic Canada that lights up homes and businesses in an effort to increase visibility of the disease and raise funds for research.
