Today Stephanie and Dan will talk with Dr. Carrie Mitran. Dr. Mitran's dissertation and academic research are some of the first of their kind on necessary skills for those who work with ND couples.

We will discuss:
  • Overview of the research project
  • Findings for providers (macro overview, micro points included as needed)


About Dr. Mitran:
Carrie L. Mitran received her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Human Development from North Carolina State University in 2019 under the advisement of Dr. Stanley Baker. Her current research addresses a culturally responsive approach to working with neurodivergent couples and counseling competencies for neurodiverse informed providers.
Her faculty career began at Saint Mary’s College of California. Since then, she has held three additional appointments as Lecture Faculty for the California Institute of Integral Studies, San Francisco State University, and Oregon State University.
Carrie is passionate about engaging her students using inclusive pedagogy and has been invited to give workshops on teaching in university settings. In addition, Carrie has many research interests, including neurodivergent learners in higher ed and neurodivergent couples in therapeutic settings.

Additionally, Dr. Mitran has a private practice, Neurodiversetalk, in San Francisco, serving neurodiverse couples and co-founders.
