Telecommuting is a work arrangement where the employee works outside of the office. This approach to work is also known as virtual work, remote work, telework, mobile work, e-commuting, or simply working from home. Telecommuting may mean working from home, remote business centers, coffee shops, libraries, etc. This approach to work provides both benefits and challenges for employers and employees alike. Successful execution demands planning and special considerations from both parties. Beyond technological requirements telecommuting calls for well-defined working parameters as well as good organization and self-management skills.
