Season 1, Episode 18: The Living Full Out Show with Nancy Solari helps listeners find ways to compartmentalize priorities and live in the moment, while dealing with the challenges that are thrown our way. An obstacle or challenge may come up when we least expect it. However, it is important to confront them head-on. We often try to cope with obstacles by reflecting on what has gone wrong. However reflection is also about acknowledging what has gone right. Remember to focus on positive affirmations as you proceed in life.

Our first caller Barbara has been dealing with an unsupportive friend and wonders whether it is the right time to let go of a friendship that is not serving her. Tune in to hear how Nancy helps Barbara assess her friendships and accept the nature of evolving relationships.

Our next caller Nini seeks advice on how to live life with a more stress-free approach. Listen to how Nancy coaches Nini to hone in on good habits and honor the pleasures and the small delights that give her peace of mind.

Our inspirational guest today is Noah Thomas who has struggled with alcoholism and depression from a young age. Noah experienced alcohol in ways that he didn’t recognize were abnormal in his teenage years until he garnered the self-awareness to make changes in his adult life. Listen to Noah’s raw story as he recalls the first time he was pressured into consuming alcohol, his acts of vandalism and reaching points of desperation. His longtime battle of fighting through an emotional dependency affected his own well-being as well as that of those around him. Noah encourages others to use resources of help to cope with suicidal thoughts and gain awareness of their own mental health. Be mindful of those around you and situations and triggers that might compromise your sobriety.

Our last caller Amy has a good friend who is showing early signs of dementia. She worries that her friend will not be able to ask for the help she requires, and she questions whether she should focus on being a caretaker or a companion. Hear how Nancy guides Amy to identify her own role of being a supporter and learn to deal with her friend’s health challenge.

Living Full Out is about having the courage and resourcefulness to experience, face, and move on from times of hardship. When obstacles present themselves, you are going to make mistakes and at times feel like you have failed. Ultimately, it is important to remember that we, as humans, are resilient and can overcome any obstacle in due time. Have patience and seek out community. Asking for help requires putting shame and self-judgement aside. Be compassionate to yourself, and remember that you are never alone in your struggles. There are always ways to step out of ruts and motivate each other to live full out!
