Ugh. I'm so sorry for your loss too! What a damn shirt-show religion creates. I'm excited to hear what you find out about who you are as well! For now, thank you for sharing a bit of your story. That's how we heal isn't it - sharing our stories and lifting each other up? You are NOT alone. 😄

I am so sorry for everything Mary. I grew up a Jehovah Winess and the religions are very similar in their judgment, brainwashing and expectations. My father recently passed and it has shook me to my core. It hit me was harder than I thought it would, not because of the loss but because of what never was. All the things I never lived up to in his eyes, the things I never did because of that same judgment. Damned if you do damned if you don't. So now that I am almost over the perverbial hill I am forced to reevaluate and re-examine everything, my entire life. I now realize I don't know what I believe and what was relgious indoctrination. I have realized I don't even know who I am but I can't wait to find out. Stay strong, your emotions will be all over the place. My heart goes out to you and your loved ones.
Thank you for your words and your story. Makes me feel sane and in GREAT company.
