Hi guys! ⁣

Today I felt like sharing with you, some tips on how to prepare yourself in the best way possible before attending a meeting with a publisher house. ⁣

I’ve been at at least 30 meetings during the last five years, because I’ve had many book ideas and because I’ve had a lot of ‘no’s’ and rejections along the way. And that process of trying to get my book ideas published taught me a lot! ⁣

So here’s some tips for you, on how to prepare yourself in the best possible way before attending a meeting with a publisher house: ⁣

1. Today a lot is about numbers and statistics! Almost more about that, than your creative book idea and what your book is going to be all about ⁣

2. So make sure to have reflected upon: how you want to make PR for your book? On which social media platforms you want to promote your book? Try to build a strong foundation of followers on either your Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest or so on ⁣

3. Research on the audience you want to publish the book for! How many of them excist? How is your theme relevant for them right now, at this time? ⁣

4. Also do some research on your theme fx: if your book is for young women and your goal with the book is to upgrade their mental health, then make sure to do your research on young women and their mental health. ⁣

In this way you’ll have a lot of numbers and statistics that will prove why your book idea is relevant, why it’s needed on the market and why it’s important for it to be published, right now! No one can argue with numbers or statistics - I mean: facts. ⁣

A lot of creative people never get through with their projects, because their trying to sell their idea/project/book idea based on their thoughts, feelings and creativity (which is beautiful) but it’s also subjective. ⁣

Cold facts is objective, and everyone has no other chance than having to understand the point you’re trying to make based on the research you’ve done. ⁣

In this way, you’ll stand in a stronger position during your meeting with a publisher house. Good luck. ❤️ xx J⁣
