News correspondent Hannah Quinn-Mulligan interviews Zoe Kavanagh of the National Dairy Council, who issued a rallying cry to the dairy industry to defend itself against non-factual attack by dairy rejectors.
I hope when you tell people the 'real story' that you include ALL the details of the dairy industry, like for example how cows like all female mammals don't always produce milk, they must become pregnant, so they are (against their will) artificially inseminated with a farmer shoving his arms into the cow's rectum and vagina. And after the cow has carried the baby for 9 months, when she gives birth, if it's a male it is surplus to the requirements in the industry so it is dragged from its terrified mother (who will likely cry out for her lost baby for days on end), has a bolt through its skull, its throat slit, and its body dismembered and packaged so it doesn't remind the consumer they are eating the murdered body of a terrified baby, and sold as veal. If the calf is born female the farmer obviously doesn't want her drinking the milk (and his profits) so she too is dragged from her terrified mother (who will likely cry out for her lost baby for days on end) and is fed a poor quality and much cheaper milk replacement powder, until she is old enough to give birth and join the horrific cycle of birth and kidnapped babies her mother endured, again and again losing baby after baby, until they can no longer get pregnant and the milk dries up, so they have a bolt shot through their skull, their throat is slit and their bodies are dismembered and packaged so the customer doesn't realise the cruel life of misery they have endured, and they are allowed to continue in their delusion of a cartoon telly tubby land farm where the cows are happy and willing to be enslaved and murdered for the Happy farmer!
