They are saying "equal protection" for non-Indian families -- that they are being discriminated against if an Indian family has preference for placement of children
There is a new voting law being debated in Congress right now that establishes "a floor" of what things are the minimums all states need to allow in terms of voting -- so it would be good to bring this tribal ID issue to a Senator who will help get it included.
Yep. Even when I was getting my new “Real ID” yesterday, they wouldn’t take my Tribal card even thought it’s federally issued. I had to go back home & luckily I could find “other” acceptable items.
Remember when Candidate Obama said we needed to vote Democrat "from the state house to the White House"??? State legislatures and governorships are important!! We have ignored it to our detriment!!
Activism -- one of the easiest and most effective things you or any of us can do is CALL YOUR SENATORS AND REPRESENTATIVES to support legislation that's important to you!! Takes less than 3 minutes on average to make one call. Really. Do it. It matters!
