As we wrap up the Epiphany season with Transfiguration Sunday, we’re reminded in no uncertain terms that it’s always about Jesus. The Transfiguration event in Matthew 17 was all about Jesus – pointing to Him, the presence of Moses and Elijah giving clarity about Jesus and who He truly is, the glowing/shining and then the words of affirmation from the Father/the voice from the cloud, it’s all about Jesus! We’ll dig deeper in the 2 Peter 1 reading as well, which appropriately exalts Jesus even further, as Peter speaks of what he personally saw and experienced on that mountaintop. We go to the mountaintop on this Sunday to “see” what Peter saw, along with James and John, and add our worship and praise to the shining light of Jesus. We hope you can join us on the mountaintop for worship!
