I could not survive war on our own turf. Living each day to the fullest because I am afraid of the nukes hitting near where I live.

I recall the speculation of when the invasion would take place, the ground had to be solid enough and not muddy, and after the Beijing olympics so as not to ruin the China experience.

Fine. Lets save the planet. How about first we save the people that are needed to save the planet? Making people homeless or starving because of raising energy costs is just going to get Americans killed. They keep this stuff up with shutting off our energy independence there will not be anyone left to save the planet.

Speaking of cold war, I remember in first grade we practiced "duck and cover" where you get under your desk, bend forward and interlace your fingers with your hands over the back of your head. We were taught to recognize air missile warning sirens, too. Then things cooled down and soon it was just regular fire drills.
