She authored the national bestseller, Pay It Forward, which was adapted into a major motion picture starring Kevin Spacey and Helen Hunt, and was chosen by the American Library Association for its Best Books for Young Adults list. She is also the founder and former president (2000-2009) of the Pay It Forward Foundation.
