Hello, my friend, I am Guthrie Chamberlain, your captain on our journey to increase Wisdom and Create a Living Legacy.  Thank you for joining us today as we explore wisdom on our 2nd millennium of podcasts. This is Day 1030 of our Trek, and it is time for our 3-minute mini trek called Wisdom Unplugged.  This short nugget of wisdom includes an inspirational quote with a little bit of additional content for today’s trek.  Consider this your vitamin supplement of wisdom for today.  So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:

Today’s quote is from William Arthur Ward and it is:  Another fresh new year is here...another year to live! To banish worry, doubt, and fear, to love and laugh and give! This bright New Year is given me to live each day with zest...to daily grow and try to be my highest and my best! I have the opportunity once more to right some wrongs, to pray for peace, to plant a tree, and sing more joyful songs.
Another Fresh New Year
All of us like new beginnings.   A time to strip off the old, and put on the new.  A time where we can cast off the past, and begin with a clean slate.  We can learn from the past, and our past does determine our starting point for today, but it does not control our future.  We need to strip off the shackles of yesterday, and press forward to new tomorrows.   Anyone can do this, regardless of your past.  First, you must determine in your mind, then take action to make it happen.   Strip off the clothing of worry, doubt, and fear, and put on the new garments of love, kindness, peace, and gratitude.    Many others are traveling on this trek of life with you to live a life that is rich and satisfying.  Let us band together for the best year ever.  We can be encouraged by the following two verses.

Hebrews 12:1

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.2 Corinthians 5:17

This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!
