We build habits that support how we currently think about ourselves. Meaning, your current habits, whether conscious or subconscious, are reflections of who you believe yourself to be at this moment (aka- your identity). However, when we talk about building better habits, it's usually around eating healthy, getting more sleep, or exercising. We don't think about our identity-based habits and that's a huge mistake.

If identity-based habits are a new concept, this podcast episode will help you to understand how your habits influence your day-to-day life. An example of an identity-based habit could be when your exceptional ability to take care of your family and friends while working a full-time job makes you identify as a strong woman or superwoman. The reverse of that could be someone who constantly misplaces things may identify as being messy or disorganized.

Habits and identity will always work together to shape your life for the good or bad. If you’ve never done a health check on your identity-based habits, or it’s been a while, don’t worry, you’re not alone. My guest, Courage Molina of the Dose of Courage Podcast (https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/dose-of-courage/id1239999773), is fully transparent about her life and shares how she uses healthy identity-habits to positively impact her life so you can do the same.
