Visionary media collective Starset have carved out a unique path as part cinematic rock band and part conceptual storytellers, weaving an intricate narrative through multimedia and redefining the concept of a truly immersive entertainment experience. Led by enigmatic frontman and PhD candidate Dustin Bates, the band have made it their mission to take fans on a journey through music, video, AR-integrated performances, a Marvel graphic novel and online experiences, blurring the lines of science, fact, and fiction.

"We are a cinematic rock band that uses science and sci-fi as our backbone," Bates explained, "and we like to consider ourselves as an immersive band with a full experience outside of that but at the same time you can enjoy us just for the songs".

With the release of third album Divisions, Starset once again blurs the lines of fact and fiction with an epic and grandiose continuation of the story arc began in Transmissions and Vessels.

"The reception has been incredible", he enthused. "Whenever you are experimenting and taking a step in a new direction when you don't know what to do, you just don't know how people will receive it. You just have to do it and you never quite know what to expect. The fans have seemed to enjoy, appreciate and embrace it and I couldn't ask for anything more".

In the full interview, Dustin runs through the continuation of the story arc, gives a brief rundown on what is happening in this chapter, tells how much of the storyline is based in reality, whether there is a conclusion planned, what direction he may or may not take if it does, choosing singles from the story arc, selecting live songs to keep a cohesive flow, the expansive nature of their live performances, social media marketing, the ability to listen to Starset's music without immersing yourself in the narrative and more.
