The year was 1978 and I was about 12 years old on a school trip to the movies. My [white] teacher was teaching us African American History and insisted we see this movie called "The Wiz".... I sat in that theatre literally glued to the big screen. The movie was great, but the MUSIC blew my mind and although I had never touched a musical instrument prior, after seeing this movie, made me fall in love with the orchestra.. with an emphasis on the harmonica. Today on The Sir Walter Jones Show we will be doing a listening party of the entire soundtrack to this epic musical produced by Quincy Jones and Tom Bahler.
