1. Go for a few drinks before bed

If you have a few drinks late at night, you will soon feel tired and want to go to sleep. This does not mean that you will sleep well! Once the effect of the alcohol has worn off, you'll wake up just as tired. Consuming alcohol a few hours before going to sleep is going to generate many nightmares, almost certainly.

2. Get a cold

When we are sick, we rest poorly and dream much more. The chances of having a nightmare are greater if we are under the pressure of an illness and its treatment. You could achieve it if you bathe in cold water, or go for a walk in a badly dressed winter.

3. Try some horror movies

You may not want to admit it to your friends, but horror movies do scare you. There is no point in denying it, there is nothing wrong with it, horror movies were created to scare us. If you want to have nightmares, appealing to terror can be a good strategy.

4. Watch the first season of Hannibal right before you go to bed.

Even if you don't know the story of Hannibal Lecter, even if you never liked his character, if you watch the first season, you will surely be so scared and anxious to see the second, that the nightmares will start before you go to sleep.
