Apocalipsis 17:5‭-‬18 RVA2015:
En su frente estaba escrito un nombre, un misterio: “Babilonia la grande, madre de las rameras y de las abominaciones de la tierra”. Vi a la mujer embriagada con la sangre de los santos y con la sangre de los mártires de Jesús. Al verla, quedé asombrado con gran asombro. Y el ángel me dijo: “¿Por qué estás asombrado? Yo te explicaré el misterio de la mujer y de la bestia que la lleva y que tiene siete cabezas y diez cuernos. La bestia que has visto era y no es,y ha de subir del abismo, y va a la perdición. Los habitantes de la tierra, cuyos nombres no están inscritos en el libro de la vida desde la fundación del mundo, se maravillarán cuando vean a la bestia que era y no es y será. Aquí está la mente que tiene sabiduría: Las siete cabezas son siete montes sobre los cuales está sentada la mujer. Y son siete reyes: Cinco han caído, uno es y otro aún no ha venido; y cuando venga, debe quedar solo por un breve tiempo. La bestia que era y no es también es el octavo, y procede de los siete y va a la perdición. Los diez cuernos que has visto son diez reyes que todavía no han recibido reino, pero toman autoridad por una hora como reyes junto con la bestia. Estos tienen un solo propósito, y entregan su poder y autoridad a la bestia. Ellos harán guerra contra el Cordero, y el Cordero los vencerá, porque él es Señor de señores y Rey de reyes, y los que están con él son llamados y elegidos y fieles”.
También me dijo: “Las aguas que has visto donde está sentada la ramera son pueblos y multitudes, naciones y lenguas. Los diez cuernos que has visto, y la bestia, estos aborrecerán a la ramera y la dejarán desolada y desnuda. Comerán sus carnes y la quemarán con fuego; porque Dios ha puesto en sus corazones el ejecutar su propósito, y que tengan un solo propósito, y que entreguen su reino a la bestia hasta que se cumplan las palabras de Dios. La mujer que has visto es la gran ciudad que tiene imperio sobre los reyes de la tierra”.


En los siguientes dos episodios vamos a leer con más detalle cómo será la destrucción de la llamada " la gran ramera".
Según los eruditos del apocalipsis, esta visión corresponde a un personaje que será un líder religioso que liderará un movimiento espiritual mundial, liderado por el llamado “falso profeta”. Este falso profeta es representado en la mujer y el anticristo, que será un líder político de influencia mundial, y es simbolizado en la bestia, dando a entender que son dos sistemas: el religioso y el político, los que van a pervertir la humanidad y en este caso serán enjuiciados con el juicio de Dios.

Debemos reflexionar un verso de este capítulo que dice: "Los habitantes de la tierra, cuyos nombres no están inscritos en el libro de la vida desde la fundación del mundo, se maravillarán cuando vean a la bestia".
¡Esta es una frase que nos debe traer grande esperanza a nuestros corazones, los que hemos aceptado el mensaje de Jesús! Cuando Dios se nos ha revelado en nuestras vidas significa que Dios, en su misericordia, nos eligió desde antes de la fundación del mundo para ser parte de la gran familia de Dios.
En cambio, hay una población de la humanidad que sus nombres no fueron escritos en el libro de la vida; ellos van a ser testigos de cómo todas estas plagas vienen sobre la tierra y verán la caída de esta gran potencia mundial que los va a gobernar de forma espiritual y política. Todos ellos, los que no están escritos en el libro de la vida, van a sufrir una gran decepción, pues van a pensar que hicieron bien al rechazar al Señor porque ellos van a admirar mucho más los sistemas gubernamentales dirigidos por Satanás, pero después se darán cuenta con mucha decepción que no eran lo que ellos se imaginaban.
¡Siéntete privilegiado de haber sido elegido para ser parte de esta lista del libro de la vida!
Recordemos estas palabras tan profundas del apóstol Pablo donde nos enseña el privilegio de haber sido llamados por Dios desde antes de la fundación del mundo en Efesios 1:4-5 (Nueva Biblia Viva): “Desde antes que formara el mundo, Dios nos escogió para que fuéramos suyos a través de Cristo, y resolvió hacernos santos y sin falta ante su presencia. Y nos destinó de antemano, por su amor, para adoptarnos como hijos suyos, por medio de Jesucristo, debido a su buena voluntad.”

Por eso te animo en este devocional a que jamás consideres ni por un segundo abandonar el camino del Señor. La condición de que nuestros nombres continúen escritos en el libro de la vida depende de nuestra propia perseverancia, venciendo las tentaciones y los deseos de la carne, como ya lo leímos en el capítulo 3 de Apocalipsis en el verso 5 que dice: "El que salga vencedor recibirá ropa blanca; no borraré su nombre del libro de la vida sino que reconoceré su nombre ante mi Padre y ante sus ángeles."

En los próximos capítulos del Apocalipsis vamos a leer más versos donde expresa la importancia de ser parte de la lista de los escogidos. Busca y escucha la canción “Cuando allá se pase lista''.

September 11: May your name be written in the book of life.

Revelation 17:
And on her forehead a name was written: MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS
AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. And when I saw her, I marveled with great amazement.
But the angel said to me, “Why did you marvel? I will tell you the mystery of the woman and of the beast that carries her, which has the seven heads and the ten horns. The beast that you saw was, and is not, and will ascend out of the bottomless pit and go to perdition. And those who dwell on the earth will marvel, whose names are not written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world, when they see the beast that was, and is not, and yet is. Here is the mind which has wisdom: The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits. There are also seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, and the other has not yet come. And when he comes, he must continue a short time. The beast that was, and is not, is himself also the eighth, and is of the seven, and is going to perdition. The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast. These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful.”


In the next two episodes we will read in more detail what the destruction of the so-called "great whore" will be like.
According to the scholars of the apocalypse, this vision corresponds to a character who will be a religious leader who will lead a world spiritual movement, led by the so-called “false prophet”. This false prophet is represented in the woman and the antichrist, who will be a political leader of world influence, and is symbolized in the beast, implying that there are two systems: the religious and the political, those that are going to pervert humanity and in this case they will be judged with the judgment of God.

We must reflect on a verse in this chapter that says: "And those who dwell on the earth will marvel, whose names are not written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world, when they see the beast".
This is a phrase that should bring great hope to our hearts, the ones of us who have accepted the message of Jesus! When God has revealed Himself to us in our lives it means that God, in His mercy, chose us from before the foundation of the world to be part of the great family of God.
Instead, there is a population of humanity whose names were not written in the book of life; they are going to witness how all these plagues come upon the earth and they will see the fall of this great world power that is going to rule them spiritually and politically. All of them, those who are not written in the book of life, are going to suffer a great disappointment, because they will think that they were right to reject the Lord because they will much more admire the governmental systems run by Satan, but later they will realize with much disappointment that they were not what they imagined.
Feel privileged to have been chosen to be part of this list of the book of life!
Let us remember these profound words of the apostle Paul where he teaches us the privilege of having been called by God from before the foundation of the world in Ephesians 1:4-5: “just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will”.
That is why I encourage you in this devotional never to consider abandoning the way of the Lord for a second. The condition that our names continue to be written in the book of life depends on our own perseverance, overcoming the temptations and lusts of the flesh, as we already read in chapter 3 of Revelation in verse 5 that says: "He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels."
