Génesis 34: La curiosidad que se convirtió en tragedia.

Voy a leer solo una parte de este capítulo pero debes leerlo completamente para que comprendas el contexto de la enseñanza de hoy.

Génesis 34:1-12
Entonces Dina, la hija que Lea había dado a luz a Jacob, salió para ver a las jóvenes del lugar. 2 Y la vio Siquem, el hijo de Hamor el heveo, príncipe de aquella tierra. Él la tomó, se acostó con ella y la violó. 3 Pero se sintió ligado a Dina hija de Jacob; se enamoró de la joven y habló al corazón de ella. 4 Y Siquem habló con Hamor su padre, diciendo: —Tómame a esta joven por mujer.
5 Cuando Jacob oyó que Siquem había mancillado a Dina, su hija, sus hijos estaban en el campo con su ganado. Por ello Jacob calló hasta que ellos regresaran. 6 Entonces Hamor, padre de Siquem, fue para hablar con Jacob.
7 Cuando los hijos de Jacob lo supieron, regresaron del campo. Los hombres se entristecieron y se enfurecieron mucho, porque él había cometido una vileza en Israel, acostándose con la hija de Jacob, cosa que no se debía haber hecho.
8 Hamor habló con ellos y les dijo: —Mi hijo Siquem se siente atraído por su hija. Les ruego que se la den por mujer. 9 Empariéntense con nosotros. Dennos sus hijas, y tomen ustedes las nuestras. 10 Habiten con nosotros; la tierra está delante de ustedes. Habiten en ella, negocien y establézcanse en ella.
11 También Siquem dijo al padre y a los hermanos de ella: —Halle yo gracia ante sus ojos, y les daré lo que me pidan. 12 Aumenten a cuenta mía el precio matrimonial y muchos regalos. Yo les daré cuanto me pidan, pero denme la joven por mujer.


Dina, la única hija de Jacob, tuvo curiosidad por buscar amigas en medio de los pueblos vecinos de la tierra de Canaán. Abraham tuvo cuidado con quien se relacionaba Isaac. Estaba claro que ninguno de la descendencia de Isaac debía mezclarse con gente que no fuera de su pueblo.
En este caso, vemos a Dina en medio de jóvenes que no eran de su parentela. Estaba tan alegre de estar con otros jóvenes que un joven tomó ventaja y abusó de ella. Posiblemente, él se ganó la confianza de Dina, y Dina se sintió aludida por la atención que él le daba, siendo él un joven más popular y atractivo de la ciudad.
Este acercamiento se salió de control rápidamente. Posiblemente él abusó de su poder e influencia en el pueblo por ser el hijo del gobernador, por eso lo movió a hacer eso y a pensar que Dina era quizá una chica del montón, de las que no tienen principios ni valores.
Dina, en su inocencia, pensaba que no pasaría nada malo. La Biblia no menciona que ella estaba con sus hermanos o algún acompañante. Posiblemente salió sin supervisión. Lo que sí sabemos es que Siguen no tenía valores y principios claros y firmes; él pensó tratarla como, quizás, habría hecho con otras jóvenes acostumbradas a esta clase de comportamientos.

La curiosidad de Dina desencadenó una serie de tragedias que hicieron que sus hermanos engañaran a los hombres del pueblo para luego exterminarlos, poniendo en peligro a su familia y toda su casa.
Espero que esta lección la podamos aplicar hoy. Es necesario que nuestros jóvenes cuiden su corazón puro, si no han experimentado muchas cosas que otros jóvenes se han enlodado en este mundo. No te sientas menos que ellos. Ser diferente te hace especial y valioso para Dios. Un joven de Dios es un ser único y escaso en este mundo. Jóvenes que se guarden en pureza, sin rebajarse a relaciones desordenadas.
Haz las cosas en orden, como Dios manda. Siquem hizo todo al revés, deshonró a Dina y después buscó hablar con sus padres para casarse con ella y todo le salió mal. El orden es pedir a los padres permiso para cortejar a la joven; luego, si los padres dieron consentimiento, conocerse mutuamente con respeto; y por último, establecer su relación en matrimonio.
Aunque suene anticuado o pasado de moda, este proceso entre los jóvenes solteros que quieren algún día casarse deben seguir el proceso que por miles de siglos ha servido para que no hagan cosas que dañen lo que sería una bonita experiencia. ¡No te saltes los pasos! Sigue estos pasos con paciencia, sin afanarse y disfrutando cada momento con cuidado.
Cuida tu integridad, cuida tu pureza, cuida tu dignidad, seas hombre o mujer. Toma control de tus emociones, no dejes que nadie juegue con tu corazón ni te fuerce a hacer cosas que no quieres y sabes que está mal, no le hagas daño a ninguna persona que esté vulnerable, confía demasiado en ti y en Dios, y honra al Señor con tu cuerpo.

Genesis 34: The curiosity that turned into tragedy.

I am going to read only part of this chapter but you must read it completely so that you understand the context of today's teaching.

Genesis 34:1-12 NKJV:
Now Dinah, the daughter of Leah, whom she had borne to Jacob, went out to see the daughters of the land. And when Shechem the son of Hamor the Hivite, prince of the country, saw her, he took her and lay with her, and violated her. His soul was strongly attracted to Dinah the daughter of Jacob, and he loved the young woman and spoke kindly to the young woman. So Shechem spoke to his father Hamor, saying, “Get me this young woman as a wife.”
And Jacob heard that he had defiled Dinah his daughter. Now his sons were with his livestock in the field; so Jacob held his peace until they came. Then Hamor, the father of Shechem, went out to Jacob to speak with him. And the sons of Jacob came in from the field when they heard it; and the men were grieved and very angry, because he had done a disgraceful thing in Israel by lying with Jacob’s daughter, a thing which ought not to be done. But Hamor spoke with them, saying, “The soul of my son Shechem longs for your daughter. Please give her to him as a wife. And make marriages with us; give your daughters to us, and take our daughters to yourselves. So you shall dwell with us, and the land shall be before you. Dwell and trade in it, and acquire possessions for yourselves in it.”
Then Shechem said to her father and her brothers, “Let me find favor in your eyes, and whatever you say to me I will give. Ask me ever so much dowry and gift, and I will give according to what you say to me; but give me the young woman as a wife.”

Dinah, the only daughter of Jacob, was curious to find friends in the midst of the neighboring towns of the land of Canaan. Abraham was careful whom Isaac associated with. It was clear that none of Isaac's offspring were to mix with people who were not of his people.
In this case, we see Dina in the midst of young people who were not her relatives. She was so happy to be with other young people that a young man took advantage and abused her. Possibly, he gained Dina's trust, and Dina felt alluded to the attention he gave her, being the most popular and attractive young man in town.
This approach quickly spiraled out of control. Possibly he abused his power and influence in the town because he was the governor's son, so he dared to do that to her and to think that Dina was perhaps just another girl, one of those who have no principles or values.
Dina, in her innocence, thought that nothing bad would happen. The Bible does not mention that she was with her brothers or any companion. Possibly she went out unsupervised or none of his brothers trusted those people. What we do know is that Shechem did not have clear and firm values ​​and principles; he thought to treat her as, perhaps, he would have done with other young women accustomed to this kind of behavior.

Dina's curiosity unleashed a series of tragedies that caused her brothers to deceive the men of the town and then exterminate them, endangering their family and their entire house.
I hope that we can apply this lesson today. It is necessary for our young people to take care of their pure hearts, if they have not experienced many things that other young people have muddied in this world. Do not feel less than them. Being different makes you special and valuable to God. A young man of God is a unique and rare being in this world. Young people who keep themselves pure, without lowering themselves to messy relationships.
Do things in order, as God commands. Shechem did everything backwards, he dishonored Dinah and then he tried to talk to her parents to marry her and everything went wrong. The order is to ask the parents for permission to court the young woman; then, if the parents consented, get to know each other respectfully; and finally, establish their relationship in marriage.
Although it sounds old-fashioned, this process among young singles who want to get married one day must follow the process that for thousands of centuries has served so that they do not do things that damage what would be a beautiful experience. Don't skip the steps! Follow these steps patiently, without rushing and enjoying every moment carefully.
Take care of your integrity, take care of your purity, take care of your dignity, whether you are a man or a woman. Take control of your emotions, do not let anyone play with your heart or force you to do things you do not want and you know is wrong, do not harm any person who is vulnerable, trust too much in yourself and in God, and honor the Lord with your body.
