Kelly: Ancient Mysteries – The Codex Gigas aka, The Devil's Bible







The Codex Gigas is a medieval illuminated manuscript from the early 13th-century Bohemia. The Codex Gigas is three-feet tall, almost two-feet wide, 9-inches thick, and weighs about 165 pounds. It takes two people to carry it. Codex Gigas translates from Latin to Giant Book.



Written by the disgraced monk, Herman the Recluse, he was given a reprieve by the Abbot if he wrote a book containing all the knowledge of the world, but he had to do it either in one night or one year. Realizing that he'd never make it in time, the legend has it that Herman the Recluse sold his to the Devil. more…



Cyndi: Ancient Mysteries – Nazca Lines



The Nazca Lines are a series of geoglyphs (designs or motifs carved into the ground) in the Peruvian Coastal plain about 250 miles (400 km) south of Lima, Peru in South America. Created by the ancient Nazca people these geoglyphs depict flowers, animals, human figures, and lines. Owing to their lager and life-size, the 2,000-year-old Nazca Lines can only be truly appreciated, or even viewed, from the air. Despite having been studied for nearly a century, researchers, historians, archeologists, and scientists still don’t know exactly why the Nazca people covered the vast desert with these geoglyphs. more…
