Star Trek - Strange New Worlds - Ep. 10 'A Quality of Mercy' - Commentary by David Hoffmeister

In this season finale, just as Captain Pike thinks he's figured out how to escape his fate, he's visited by his future self, who shows him the consequences of his actions.

This particular episode is very touching. It can really touch your heart. It can help activate the love inside because the theme that runs through this episode is the most profound teachings of A Course in Miracles. In the workbook, Jesus says, Time is a trick, a sleight of hand in which figures seem to come and go, and then he says that we are but reviewing mentally what has already gone by. This world was over long ago.

There is a point where the question is put to Jesus in the workbook; How will the world end? Wow, that's an interesting question that's been bounced around for quite a few centuries. How will the world end? And again, as usual, when he wants to make a point, he answers a question with a question. Can what has no beginning have an end?
