David's commentary, continued: "And this idea today, 'My meaningless thoughts are showing me a meaningless world', puts causation in true perspective. You think you think the thoughts, and then you think you see the thoughts. And if you release these thoughts, you will no longer see these thoughts - in terms of perception. It's the first step in showing a mirroring that seems to be occurring WHILE you still believe these thoughts are real. Your brother is the mirror in which you see the perception of yourself, as long as the perception lasts - until the Light of Revelation, the Great Rays of Light and Truth, are seen to be Reality. In this world of brothers and sisters there seems to be nothing but false perception, never true, not true for an instant. So today's idea is a big step in opening to an actual experience of the real world of true perception, of the unified Field that quantum physicists talk about, in which everything is completely connected, everything is whole, everything is one in awareness: this beautiful, holistic perception in which there is no doer, because there is no personality. God is no respecter of persons, the Bible teaches us - how true. God creates in Spirit, and Spirit is one forever. Now in order to approach this idea, it means you have to let go of everything in the linear world of perception, because the linear world of perception is nothing but false cause-effect relationships, spurious cause-effect relationships that have no meaning, whatsoever. It means you have to see the impossibility of the idea that any-body hurts any-body, any-body hurts any-body's feelings. Let go of all people pleasing; people CAN'T please people, people were made by the ego - images endowed with a false sense of a private mind and private thoughts. And it means letting go of the self-concept, whatever you think yourself to be, whatever you believe yourself to be: a man, a woman, a person, a doctor, lawyer, mother, father, sister, brother. As you go deeper into the idea for the day, you go past student concepts, teacher concepts; you sink inward, deeper and deeper and deeper, into the vastness of mind; and you lay aside these silly egoic self-concept goals, that were made to try to offer you a substitute reality, a substitute sense of worth, and a substitute sense of love - these are just thoughts. And they seem to be producing a very, very meaningless world. And so today, this instant, very liesurely, in a very relaxed way, we practice with this idea for today, and we rejoice that this is the beginning of the reversal of the thinking of the world. No longer are we bound to believe that the world causes how we feel, that the world causes us to do things. We are free of the belief that this is a world of scarcity and lack and hostility, as we rise up in the abundant experience of mind, opening to the awareness of divine mind, a mind that could never miscreate, a mind that could never misuse the power of God to make something OTHER than God's love. Today we forgive the belief in the misuse of the power of mind, by seeing: 'My meaningless thoughts are showing me a meaningless world'."
