As founder and Executive Director of Shelly Beach Communications, Shelly provides editing, mentoring, co-writing, and creative services to individuals working to bring their books to life. Author of ten books, Shelly is the recipient of the Christy Award for fiction, the Selah Award and The Golden Scroll Award for inspirational nonfiction, and the Reader's Favorite Award Gold Medallion for devotional/non-fiction. She and her husband Dan cared for Dan’s father with Parkinson’s in their home for nearly eight years and Shelly’s mother with Alzheimer’s for more than six. She and her husband Dan live in Cedar Falls, Iowa, and have two adult children and six grandchildren. Shelly Beach was born in Muskegon, Michigan, and grew up along the shoreline of Lake Michigan. She won the Christy Award with her first contemporary Christian novel in 2008 and was nominated for the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association Book of the Year award that same year for her nonfiction. She has written two novels, co-authored two historical fiction novels, and authored and/or co-authored a dozen non-fiction books. Shelly has also served as a managing editor of several Bibles. Shelly is the co-founder of the Breathe Writer's Conference in Grand Rapids and the founder of the Cedar Falls Christian Writer's Workshop in Cedar Falls, IA. She is also a co-founder of PTSDPerspectives.net and provides consultation services on post-traumatic stress disorder in medical, mental health, educational, criminal justice, professional, and faith-based settings across the nation. When Shelly is not writing, consulting, or speaking, she loves to travel. The parents of two adult children, Shelly and her husband Dan live in Iowa and are active in various church ministries.
