Theres a huge amount of benefits to gain from simply being in the present moment. Finding activities that bring about a state of flow has huge positive effects on how our minds function. Flow state can relieve stress, help with problem solving and can also aid motivation too.

It's all about finding the right angle on whatever activity you are doing and then making an active effort to turn that experience into play.

7 conditions of flow
1. completely involved in what they are doing
2. focussed and concentrated
3. a sense of ecstasy, escapism, being out of reality
4. greater inner clarity
5. knowing what needs to be done
6. knowing the activity is doable that our skills are adequate
7. a sense of serenity, no worries about self or situation
8. timelessness, entirely focussed on the present
9. intrinsic motivation, whatever installs flow becomes its own rewards
