Connie B. Dowell is an author of cozy mysteries and nonfiction for writers, as well as an editor, and book coach. She hosts Book Echoes, a podcast about making and selling great books while building a workable creative life. When not working, Connie is busy raising two wiggly preschoolers and playing violin badly.

Connie was a writer who stopped writing completely after Hurricane Harvey left her husband and her struggling to care for two kids under 3 in an apartment with no furniture (since it all got soaked in the old place) in a city where they knew nobody. she had to pull herself back to a position of working regularly again, and since then have published 3 books, with more on the way in the fall.

She is offering a new free course on beating writer's block, as well as a book called Writing Without Childcare.

Connie's message is:
Don't judge yourself more harshly than you would other people. I felt a lot of guilt over how long it took me to get writing again, but I would never have thought less of another person who had lived through the same circumstances and reacted in the same way.
