Welcome to Episode 65 of Building My Legacy.

In this podcast, we talk once again with digital marketer and brand developer Celina Souffrant — specifically about her experience in the area of sustainability. Celina points out that today’s consumers want to feel good about the products they’re buying. As a result, sustainability is no longer something extra. It’s something that consumers expect. She cautions, however, that there are right and wrong ways to approach this topic. You need to be authentic in your sustainability efforts and make sure your work in this area makes sense within your brand story.

So if you want to know:

– Why there is power in third party verifications and how to determine which certifications fit with your brand
– How to avoid “greenwashing,” which today’s savvy consumers will see right through
– A valid way to start on the journey to sustainability – without disrupting your entire supply chain
– What costs are involved and what to do before you invest in any sustainability efforts
– How to make your packaging your best sales rep

About Celina Souffrant

Currently working as a consultant in product marketing for Facebook, Celina Souffrant started her career as a performer. When health problems derailed her plans to become an opera singer, she answered a start-up’s Craigslist ad for a model and discovered she was a natural salesperson. She progressed quickly at this aggressively growing company, working in sales and marketing management and building a team that eventually generated revenue in the multimillions. She then became a freelance consultant for nonprofits, a position that took her all over the world. After earning her MBA, Celina transitioned into corporate technology consulting, working with Google and now with Facebook.

Celina has also done a great deal of work in the area of sustainability, helping start-ups include these efforts right from the beginning and working with established businesses to determine what sustainability efforts are most appropriate for their brand.
