Brazos County commissioners and the College Station city council are being asked to do away with the names of two streets in south College Station.

The city of College Station's transportation planning coordinator, Jason Schubert, says the request came from Brazos County 9-1-1.

The proposal, which will be presented at Tuesday's county commission meeting, calls for removing the names of Greens Prairie Road West and Greens Prairie Trail.

According to a map from College Station's planning and development office, the "Trail" and part of the "West" would become parts of Greens Prairie Road.

Another section of Greens Prairie West would become an extension of Woodlake Drive.

And a third section of Greens Prairie West would be an extension of Victoria Avenue. Those living on the new Victoria would also have new home numbers.

Schubert says there will be a presentation before the city council and property owners will be notified before any final action is taken.
