Released in 2021, @spflanery’s “Born A Champion” tells the story of Mickey Kelley, an American jiu-jitsu black belt who suffers a devastating injury and loss in an underground MMA fight. Left to pick up the pieces and trying to provide a life for his family, Mickey must step back into the ring facing a crowd that wants him to fail and an opponent that wants to finish the job. Born A Champion is a story about a true indomitable spirit, and the power of self-mastery martial arts can provide. Plus, this might be the first film to make jiu-jitsu look cinematic.
