1. The weekly initial jobless claims upticked to 778,000.  Today's number was higher than last week's revised count of 748,000. As for continuing claims for the week ending November 14th, they decreased by 299,000 to 6.071 million from a revised count of 6.370 million.

2. Markets are pulling back today after a solid rally yesterday. Tomorrow is the Thanksgiving day holiday so volume should be light today. Please remember, this Friday is a half day trading session. Dow down 100 plus points, Nasdaq flat, S&P, Russell 2000 down, financials selling off and energy too. To be expected. New all time closing high on the Dow. Not surprising. Two days of a very intense rally on low volume. Keep your eye on the Russell. It’s becoming the leader but way over extended for now.

3. Gold/silver were slammed yesterday. They’re near-term oversold. A little more to do on the downside. Nick is looking closely at the miners. When they do go up it could be a sustained rally. Have to see where the rally takes us, whether there’s high volume and the reaction. Approaching a near term opportunity. Gold diverged from the market indexes.
