Host Sue Stockdale talks to two of the Sports 2000 Duratec drivers Michael Gibbins and Tom Stoten, both of whom have won the Creative Funding Sports 2000 Championship in previous years.

Michael Gibbins began competitive karting at 8 years old and competed in various club level championships until moving into cars at 16 years old. He competed in the Sports 2000 Pinto championship in 2013 and 2014 and became the youngest winner in 2013 and won the Pinto Historic Championship 2014. After switching into Sports 2000 Duratec in 2015 he won the first race that he competed in; and finished second that year in the championship. Michael won the Sports 2000 overall championship in 2016, 2019 and 2020.

Tom Stoten is 32 years old and works in the City in London. He has been involved with Sports 2000 since 2000 when his father started racing. In 2012, he started at the back of the grid in a Gunn and has been racing Gunn’s ever since. Tom won the sprint championship in 2017 and 2018 and has won the Endurance championship multiple times. Tom also owns a Lola T492 Pinto that he will be driving at some historic events.
